Direct Service Training
Fort Bend Women’s Center is a certified provider of the Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Training Program. In addition, the training includes important information on the impact of domestic violence and programs to help survivors. This training is required for employees and volunteers who are interested in working directly with survivors served by Fort Bend Women's Center.
The training consists of 30 hours in-classroom with an additional 10 hours of self-study and on the job training. Training is held once a quarter. The next training session will begin July 20th and will be virtual on Zoom.
The objective of this training is to ensure that we have volunteers and employees who truly understand the issues facing our clients, our responsibilities to them and the high standards of service that are expected.
To sign up for training:
- Complete a volunteer application online, or an Internship application.
- Attend volunteer Orientation where you will meet with Volunteer Engagement Manager.
- If you are interested in an internship, a phone interview with a Fort Bend Women's Center Counselling Supervisor is required.
If you would like to work directly with the clients we serve, the Office of Attorney General requires 40 hours of training, which we offer at our Administrative Office three times each year.
