Help Us Measure Up 4 Kids
When we say “survivor,” we are not just referring to the adult victim who reached out to us for help
after being directly violated. In fact, more than 50% of our clients are children - the often “silent
victims” of domestic violence. But not at Fort Bend Women’s Center!
For over 40 years, we have witnessed thousands of children from abusive homes enter our programs
and show the effects that trauma can have on a young brain, from behavioral issues to education
delays and more. Our Youth Development Team focuses on addressing the survivor’s experiences of
trauma, supporting their educational development and easing the stress in their relationships with
their parent and family. And through hard work and dedication, we have seen countless
transformations in our kids that are also survivors!
Every year, our Measure Up 4 Kids campaign makes it possible for the youth in our programs to have
the support they need for the new school year. With all the uncertainties today, one thing remains the
same: our dedication to providing excellent youth programming so that they have a worry-free school
year and access to services for them to exist in a healthy environment. Whether that means homework
assistance, proper equipment and supplies, or even after school time care and tutoring, we are
committed to our FBWC children!
With your help, we can provide peace for our little survivors in such an unpredictable world. We will
teach the essentials; you provide the hope!
